Maharashtra State Board Class 10 Science & Technology Part II Board Exam 2024 Post Paper Analysis - 20th March

The Class 10 Board Exams of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, commonly referred to as the SSC exams, are in full swing. This year, over 16 lakh students have appeared for the SSC examinations.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education successfully conducted the SSC Class 10 Science and Technology Part 2 paper today, 20th March 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. After a pretty good Science Paper I held on 18th March, students were relaxed because they got a one-day break to prepare for today’s Science Paper II. It has helped students prepare well.

The students’ first reactions conveyed that the paper was well-balanced, and the questions were correctly distributed. No questions were out of the syllabus and were in easy-to-understand language. The paper was designed to test the basic knowledge and grasp of concepts. Overall, students felt relieved after answering the questions, and experts praised the board for setting such a good paper for students.

Chapter-Wise Distribution of Marks

Chapter-wise Distribution of Marks

This year, the most questions were asked from the chapters ‘Life Processes in Living Organisms Part 2’ and ‘Environmental Management’, which accounted for 7 marks each.

This year, the Maharashtra State Board surprisingly deviated from its usual trend and hardly had questions which were directly picked up from the exercises in the chapter. So, this was an opportunity for students who had studied hard and understood the concepts.

Below are some student and teacher responses to every aspect of the paper, including typology, distribution of marks, and, of course, difficulty level.

Students’ Feedback

  • The exam paper was well-balanced and at a moderate level.
  • The multiple-choice questions were easy to moderate.
  • The paper was simpler compared to the Science 1 paper.
  • No question was excessively tough or tricky, and all the questions were doable.
  • Some questions were picked up from past year's papers.

Teachers’ Feedback

  • Overall, it was an easy and well-balanced paper.
  • The topics and questions were expected and distributed correctly.
  • No questions were out of the syllabus and were in easy language to understand.
  • The paper was designed to test the basic knowledge and grasp of concepts.
  • Overall, students felt relieved after answering the questions, and experts praised the board for setting such a good paper for students.

Conclusion

Overall, Science Paper II was easy to moderate and well-balanced. Students who had practised solving questions and understood the concepts well would be able to score 35+ in this paper.

Without worrying too much about this paper, students should now buckle up for their following paper — Social Science Paper I covering History and Political Science — which will be held on 22nd March 2024.
