Maharashtra State Board Class 10 Science & Technology Part I Board Exam 2024 Post Paper Analysis - 18th March

Maharashtra State Board Class 10 Science and Technology – Paper 1 Examination was successfully conducted on 18th March 2024. Students have mixed reactions to today’s Science paper. 

After an easy-to-moderate Mathematics Paper II held on Friday, 15th March 2024, students got a gap of two days to gear up for today’s 18th March 2024, Science and Technology Paper 1.

Question Paper Structure:

The Science and Technology Paper -1 comprised 60 Marks, and the time allotted for the paper was 2 hours. The questions were distributed as follows:

Most of the students reviewed the MSB Class 10 Science Paper as easy with few difficult-level questions as per several students. The questions' simplicity and clarity were well-received by students.

The Chapter-wise distribution of marks was according to the usual pattern with a variation of 2%. 

‘Periodic Classification of Elements’ carried a maximum of 8 marks followed by ‘Effects of Electrical Current’, ‘Refraction of Light’, and ‘Carbon and its Compounds’ carrying 7 marks each. Diagram-based questions were asked from chapters on the Heat, Refraction of light, Lenses, and the Electric effect of electric current. 

Thus, Science and Technology Paper – 1 was a scoring paper for regulars with their learning of concepts and had practiced sample papers. 

Listed below are some student and teacher responses from every aspect of the paper concerning typology, distribution of marks, and, of course, difficulty level.

Difficulty level:Easy to moderate, few difficult questions for several students.

Type of questions: Mostly direct, basic with logical understanding

Textbook coverage: Direct from textbooks and expected topics

Division of questions as per subject: As per curriculum 58 % Physics and 42 % Chemistry.

  • They advised maintaining confidence and doing well in school. 
  • All of them concurred that the exam served as a fair assessment of the material covered in class. 
  • Students must remain upbeat and diligent in their studies.

Conclusion

Overall, Science and Technology Paper 1 was easy and scored if the students had studied the textbook questions and were well-versed in the important topics. One with a good conceptual understanding would easily score 50+ marks out of 60.
