Maharashtra State Board Class 10 Board Exam 2023 Post Paper Analysis Science Part 2 (20th March)

Class 10 Board Exams of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, commonly called the SSC exams, are in full swing. This year a total of 15,77,256 students have appeared for the SSC examination. 

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education successfully conducted the SSC Class 10 Science and Technology Part 2 paper today, 20th March 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm. After a pretty good Science Paper I held on 17th March, students were relaxed because they got a two-day break to prepare for today’s Science Paper II. It has helped students to prepare well.

The students’ first reactions convey the paper to be easy to moderate and not lengthy. The question paper had a few application-based questions, but they were not very tough. The majority of the students enjoyed solving the crossword question.

Question Paper Structure

SSC Class 10 Science and Technology Part 2 paper was 40 marks, and the students had to attempt the paper in 2 hours. Additional 10 minutes were given to read the paper. All questions were compulsory. However, internal choices were provided in some questions.

Chapter-Wise Distribution of Marks

This year, maximum questions were asked from the chapter ‘Life Processes in Living Organisms Part -2’. It accounted for 11 marks, followed by the chapter ‘Environmental Management’, which accounted for 7 marks.

This year, the Maharashtra State Board surprisingly deviated from its usual trend and hardly had questions which were directly picked up from the exercises in the chapter. So, this was an opportunity for students who had studied hard and understood the concepts.

• The paper was easy to moderate but short. 
• There were many direct and expected questions. 
• No question was excessively tough or tricky. 
• There were a few application-based questions, but they were relatively easy.

• Overall, it was an easy paper.
• The topics and questions were expected.
• There were activity-based questions, but they were easy.
• Students who had practised their textbooks and were confident with their concepts would be able to score well.
• Students who had dropped chapters or practised the exercise questions and needed help understanding the concepts would find the paper moderate.

Conclusion

Overall, Science Paper II was easy to moderate and not lengthy. Students who had practised solving questions and had a good understanding of the concepts would be able to score 35+ in this paper.

Without worrying too much about this paper, students should now buckle up for their following paper — Social Science Paper I covering History and Political Science — which will be held on 23rd March 2023.
