JEE Main 2022 Paper Analysis - 29th June (Shift 1 & 2)

JEE Main 2022 session 1 exam commenced on 23rd June 2022, and 29th June was the last day of the exam. Each day the exam was held in two shifts— shift 1 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and shift 2 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm for Paper 1 BE/B.Tech. A detailed JEE Main 29th June 2022 question paper analysis for both the shifts with section-wise difficulty levels is discussed here.

The question papers for both shifts consisted of 90 questions each that were to be completed in a time slot of 90 minutes. There were 30 questions from Chemistry, Physics, and Maths sections each.

Latest update: The NTA has released the official JEE Main 2022 Session 1 Answer Key, and dissatisfied candidates can challenge the same by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 till the objection window is open, i.e., 4th July, 5.00 pm.

1st Shift, 29th June 2022: Major Highlights

Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 29th June 2022 Shift 1 exam shared the following feedback:

● The JEE Main 2022 question paper was moderately difficult.

● A few numerical answer-type questions were tricky but not too difficult.

● The Chemistry section was the easiest of all, as most of the questions were NCERT-based.

● The Maths section was a bit difficult and lengthy.

Some questions had extensive calculations that made the paper lengthy.

Inorganic and Organic Inorganic and Organic Chemistry sections were given more weightage than Physical Chemistry.

The numerical answer questions were mostly from Physical Chemistry.

The paper had NCERT fact-based questions that made it easier for all students.

The following chapters were given more weightage:
Electrochemistry
Mole Concept
Ionic Equilibrium
Aldehydes and Ketones
Chemical Bonding

Questions were mostly asked from:

Kinematics
Laws of Motion
Heat & Thermodynamics
Magnetism
Electrostatics
AC Circuits
Ray & Wave Optics
Semiconductors

The numerical-based problems were not too difficult.

This section was well-balanced.

2nd shift, 29th June 2022: Major Highlights

● Overall the paper was moderately difficult for an average student.

● Its pattern was similar to the previous year’s (2021) JEE Main paper.

Physics was moderately difficult, but Chemistry was easier.

● JEE Main-specific topics were generally easy.
