CISCE to Announce ICSE, ISC Remaining Paper Schedule a Week before the Exam

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), will conduct the remaining papers of ICSE 2020 Class 10 and ISC Class 12 examination after the lockdown is lifted, confirmed an official on Friday. The lockdown was imposed to curb the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic which resulted in the suspension on-going ICSE 2020 exams.

Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary, CISCE, said the remaining exams will be conducted immediately after the lockdown is over and will be concluded within a week. The board has also decided to conduct exams even on Saturday and Sunday to avoid any further delay. The new timetable for the exams will be announced a week before the exam.

The remaining ICSE exams will be held for 6 subjects including geography HCG paper 2, biology-science paper 3, economics, group 3 elective, Hindi and arts Paper 4. Similarly, ISC exams will be held for 8 subjects including biology paper 1, business studies, geography, sociology, psychology, home science paper 1, elective English and arts paper 5.

Arathoon also added that the new dates will be available on the CISCE website and also will be emailed to schools. He concluded by confirming that the results won’t be delayed either and will be out within 6 to 8 weeks.

He asked schools to initiate provisional admissions and said, “For the board level classes of 9-12, the schools may continue with teaching as per the syllabus”.

This is an important piece of news for the students as this implies that they should be ready as the news of exams may come any time now. India is in the third phase of lockdown and if it is lifted as per schedule then the exams will be conducted in May 2020 itself.
