Key Observations

Here are the changes introduced by the Board for CBSE Class 11 and 12.

Changes in unit-wise weightage for Physics Class 12, Chemistry Class 11 & 12, Biology Class 11 and Maths Class 11 & 12.

  • There are major changes in the design of the question paper and examination pattern for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • In Biology, there is a change only in the unit-wise weightage for Class 11, while the paper pattern remains unchanged from the previous year for Class 11 and 12.
  • Maximum marks for Maths has been reduced from 100 to 80 with 20 marks for internal assessment.
  • Objective-type MCQs have been introduced.
  • ‘Analysing and Evaluation’ and ‘Creation’ are new question types.

The introduction of objective-type questions/MCQs can help students score more marks in the paper. In addition, students will get more time to answer theory-based questions and can provide analytical and creative responses.
