CBSE Class 12 Maths Board Exam 2024 Post Paper Analysis - 9th March

Today, March 9th, 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 Mathematics board exam. Here, students can check out the analysis of the paper, along with feedback from students and Experts, and see how difficult the questions were. 

Question Paper Pattern

The question paper contains five sections A, B, C, D and E. 

  • Section A has 18 MCQs and 02 Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
  • Section B has 5 Very Short Answer (VSA)-type questions of 2 marks each.
  • Section C has 6 Short Answer (SA)-type questions of 3 marks each.
  • Section D has 4 Long Answer (LA)-type questions of 5 marks each.
  • Section E has 3 source-based/case-based/passage-based/integrated units of assessment of 4 marks each with sub-parts.

Each section is compulsory. However, there are internal choices in some questions.

Student's Feedback

  • According to many students, the exam had questions of moderate difficulty, some questions were straightforward, while others required a bit of thinking.
  • The paper was in line with the NCERT syllabus, but there were a few difficult questions.
  • The case study questions were a bit difficult.
  • Multiple -choice questions were easy but a bit confusing.
  • Many questions came from Calculus and were a bit difficult to attempt.
  • The paper was a bit lengthy.


Expert's Feedback

  • The paper was of moderate difficulty level.
  • Questions asked were from the prescribed syllabus.
  • Question-solving requires strong conceptual knowledge and understanding of its application.
  • Multiple-choice questions were easy but they had some confusing choices.

Conclusion: 

Overall, the paper was moderate in difficulty and was also a bit lengthy. To solve the complete paper easily in the stipulated duration, one needs to have a strong grasp of the concepts.
