After an easy Hindi paper, CBSE Class 10 students appeared for the Science board paper today. Nervousness, exhilaration or just plain excitement?Reviews from students and teachers varied. Most of the paper was NCERT textbook-based. Sections A and B were easy for most of the students, while Section C was bit a difficult for many.
Question Paper Structure:
There were some changes in the paper pattern this year. So, let’s first see the paper structure before moving on to the paper analysis.
The CBSE 10 Science paper was of 80 marks and was divided into three sections A, B and C and the time allotted for the paper was 3 hours.
Section A had 14 one mark questions comprising MCQs, VSA questions, two paragraph based questions in Biology and assertion - reason type questions in Physics and Chemistry.
Section B had 10 three-mark short answer-type questions.
Section C consisted of 6 five-mark long answer-type questions.
So, in all, the paper consisted of 30 questions, and internal choice was given in each section.
Sections A and C had questions which were of the easy-to-moderate level. We can say that students needed to apply their mind to solve questions from the scientific concepts which they had learnt and revised throughout the academic year.
Here we decode the CBSE Class 10 Science Paper 2020 (Set 3) with all its elements and discuss the chapter-wise distribution of marks. But first, we’ll compare the chapter-wise distribution of marks with the CBSE Class 10 Science Paper 2019.
