Important Takeaways from the CBSE Exam Date 2021 Announcement

  1. The CBSE board 2021 exam schedule is of 39 days as compared to the 45-day schedule in 2020. While there are six less days to conduct the exam, CBSE maintains that sufficient time has been given between the examinations of two main subjects in both CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12.
  2. CBSE stated that the board exam date 2021 will reduce the stress of the students and help them in better preparations for the examinations.
  3. CBSE further stated that the exam date sheet has been prepared in such a manner that on any day, the total number of students in an examination centre will comply with COVID-19 safety norms.
  4. CBSE students of class 10 and 12 appearing for board exam 2021 are expected to follow the COVID-19 pandemic protocols - wearing a face mask, carrying hand sanitisers, and maintaining social distancing.
  5. Specifically for CBSE class 12 board exams 2021, the Board mentioned that the examinations will be conducted in two shifts – morning and afternoon – to reduce the number of days.
  6. In order to comply with National Education Policy (NEP), CBSE will include/increase MCQs or application-based questions. In addition, the number of competency-based questions in the exams will be increased by 10% every year for CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12 students in a phased manner – according to an official notice by the Ministry of Education.
