CBSE Allows Schools to Admit Upto 45 Students Per Section for Class 9 & 11

As per CBSE guidelines, schools can only register up to 40 students in one class. But, this year, CBSE has announced that it will allow schools to register up to 45 students in each section. This a temporary measure, and has been put in place because schools are facing problems with registering students for Class IX and XI for the 2018-19 session.

However, private schools have to pay penalty levied against them due to the violation of the student to section ratio. The schools that have more students than what is reflected in the Online Affiliated School Information System are facing difficulties. To mitigate the situation, for now, the schools have been asked to reach out to the regional offices of CBSE. Nonetheless, the schools have to offer valid justification about the excess students.

As per the latest update, the last date for student registration for 2018-2019 is October 22nd but the schools can register students till November 28th with the late fee. Also, the board has urged the schools to submit details seeking permission for the additional section, if they have the infrastructure.
