17 Tricks for Quick Multiplication

Here we list some amazing rules of multiplication, which will surely help you and perceive in fast calculation.

1. While Multiplying by 5: Multiple first by 10 and then divide by 2.

2. While Multiplying by 6: Multiply by 3 and then by 2, which is very easy to do.

3. While Multiplying by 9: Multiply by 10 and then subtract the product by the original number.

4. While Multiplying by 12: Multiply by 10 and add twice the original number.

5. While Multiplying by 13: Multiply by 3 and by 10 separately and then add the result of both the multiplication. For example; 572 X 13= (572 X 3) + (572 X 10) = 1716 + 5720= 7436

6. While Multiplying by 14: Multiply by 7 and the multiply by 2

7. While Multiplying by 15: Multiply by 10 and then add 5 times the original number or use the multiplication trick of 5 and then add both the resultant numbers.

8. While Multiplying by 16: You can double the number four times. Or you can multiply by 8 and then by 2.

9. While Multiplying by 17: Multiply by 7 and then add 10 times the original number (same as the multiplication trick of number 13).

10. While Multiplying by 18: Multiply by 20 and subtract twice the original number.

11. While Multiplying by 19: Multiply by 20 and subtract the original number.

12. While Multiplying by 24: Multiply by 8 and then multiply by 3.

13. While Multiplying by 27: Multiply by 30 and subtract thrice the original number.

14 While Multiplying by 45: Multiply by 50 and subtract 5 times the original number.

15. While Multiplying by 90: Multiply by 9 (follow the multiplication trick of 9) and put a zero in the units place.

16. While Multiplying by 98: Multiply by 100 and subtract twice the original number.

17.  While Multiplying by 99: Multiply by 100 and subtract the original number.
