Expert Answer:

The Sky appears red during sunrise and sunset because, at these times the rays from the sun has to travel a longer distance compared to the noon. Sun rays contain seven colors out of that red color has got the highest wavelength and thus is not scattered away by the atmosphere and reach earth while other colors like blue etc gets scattered way. Thus, sky appear reddish.
