CBSE Class 10 Answered
why do things appear unclear when we enter a dark room from outside?

When we go from bright surrounding to dark room, we initially cannot see the objects in it clearly because in the bright surrounding the pupil of eye is small.
So, when we enter the dark room, the pupil of eye takes few second to adjust to the light in the surrounding. The iris makes the pupil expand or contract according to the intensity of light.
In dark room, iris makes pupil to expand and adjust to the low intensity of the light. And after that we are able to see the objects around us clearly.
