Distance between crystalline eye lens and retina (screen) is 2.4 cm 
 
This means that focal length of the system is f =0.024 cm 
Thus, 
power of his lens system is, 
P equals space 1 over f
P space equals space fraction numerator 1 over denominator 0.024 space m space end fraction space equals space plus 41.66 space D space 
 
 While reading book is placed at 25 cm
Which means object distance, u = 25 cm = 0.25 m 
and 
Image distance is the distance between the lens and screen (image is formed)
Image will be formed on retina. So image distance, v = 2.4 cm =0.024 m 
 
By lens formula, 
1 over f equals space 1 over v minus 1 over u
