Why do rain drops fall with small velocities eventhough they are falling from great heights?

Expert Answer:

Terminal velocity of raindrops is dependent upon the size of the drop, among other things.  the larger the drop, the faster it will fall.after reaching certain velocity it reaches to its terminal velocity after which its velocity does not increase. due to its mass  and air resistance its velocity is less.
