Why do plants die in the dark?
Asked by | 4th Jul, 2008, 05:03: PM
Plants require light for carrying out photosynthesis. They prepare their food through photosyntheisis. This food is essential for the plants to survive. For some days, plants can survive on their stored food, even in darkness. But if kept in darkness for even longer periods, they will die due to absence of photosynthesis.
