- Boys do not get periods or menstruation because they lack have the reproductive organs that allow for menstruation to occur.
- Boys have a penis, scrotum, and testicles, while girls have a uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and vagina.
- During menstruation in girls, the body gets rids of the unfertilized egg. Since boys do not have ovaries, they do not produce eggs. In the absence of eggs, there is no menstruation.
- However, boys may experience mood swings or other emotional changes during puberty due to changing levels of the male sex hormone testosterone.
