answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Resistance R of a conducting wire,  R = ρ×(L/A) ...............(1)

Resistance is inversly proportional to area of cross section.
When area of cross section becomes 4 times of its original value and length remains constant,
resistance will be (1/4)th of its original resistance value.
