what is the phase difference between electric and magnetic field in EM waves?
Asked by Pramesha Biswas | 06 Sep, 2012, 10:50: PM
answered-by-expert Expert Answer
In EM waves the phase difference between electric and magnetic fields is 180 degree.
It can be shown by using the 3rd and 4th maxwell equations.
As in case of magneric field, if B = Bo Sin wt
then E = - d(B)/dt = - Bo Cos wt = Bo Sin (wt +pi)
