what is the net force on the magnetic dipole inside the solenoid carrying curent? why?

Expert Answer:

The net force on the magnetic dipole inside the solenoid is zero.

Inside the solenoid, the magnetic field is uniform and parallel.
When the dipole is placed in the solenoid, the opposite poles experience a force which is equal and opposite to one another. Thus, they cancel each other.
Hence, the net force is zero.
