Expert Answer:

Interference pattern is collection of regions of low and high light intensity obtained when two different beams of light interfer at a point. The regions of low intensity, called dark fringes, while those of high intensity are called bright fringes.
An interference pattern can be obtained from waves of any type, and not necessarily light waves.
