Superelectrophiles are defined as cationic electrophilic reagents with greatly enhanced reactivities in the presence of superacids. These compounds were first described by George A. Olah.[6] Superelectrophiles form as a doubly electron deficient superelectrophile by protosolvation of a cationic electrophile.
