Uniform rod of length AB = 200 cm and mass 0.5 kg is balanced at O 40 cm from left end.
weight 0.5g is acting at centre of mass which is at mid point of rod
Counter weight of mass m is hanged at left edge.
At equilibrium , ( mg ) × 0.4 = 0.5 g × 0.6
Hence we get m = 0.75 kg or 750 g from above expression
