two identical bodies in which charge are 40 micro coloumb and minus 20 micro coulomb they are some distance apart now they are touched and kept at the same distance the ratio of initial to final force between them is

Magnitude of force between two charged bodies is directly proportional to their product of magnitude of charges .
If bodies of charges +40 μC and -20 μC are kept apart a distance d , then magnitude of intial force between them is
Fini = k ( 40 × 20 ) N = k 800 N
where k is constant .
If these charged bodies are allowed to contact each other for short time then charge on each body will be +10 μC .
If the bodies are then separated to same distance d , then magnitude of force Ffin between them is
Ffin = k ( 10 × 10 ) N = k 100 N
Ratio between magnitude of initial force to magnitude of final force is
Fini / Ffin = 8
