Let the sides are (a-d), a, (a+d) which are in A.P

if smaller sides (a-d) and a are sides of right angle, then (a+d) is hypotenuse.

Hence we have (a-d)2 + a2 = (a+d)2

2a2 +d2 -2ad = a2 + d2 + 2ad     or    a2 -4ad = 0    or  d  = a/4

hence sides are  in the ratio  [a-(a/4)] : a :  [ a+ (a/4) ]    =  (3/4) : 1 : (5/4)     or  3:4:5
