Let a is the first term and d is the common difference of given Arithmetic progression

m-th term :  a + (m-1)d = n ...................(1)
n-th term :   a + (n-1)d = m ...................(2)

By subtracting (2) from (1) and after simplification, we get,    d = (n-m)/(m-n) = -1 ................(3)

By substituting d value from (3) in (1), we get ,   a = m+n-1

hence r-th term :   (m+n-1) + (r-1) (-1) = m+n-r
