Let E1 = 4 N/C is electrical field at distance d1 = 2 m
 
Let E2 be the electric field at distance d2 = 4 m
 
( E2 / E1 ) = ( d12 / d22 )
 
E2 = E1 ( d12 / d22 ) = 4 × ( 22 / 42 )  = 1 N/C
