Let a be the first term and d be common difference .

n-th term of A.P , tn = a + ( n -1 ) d

Fourth term is , t4 = a + (4-1)d = a + 3 d = 13  ........................(1)

Tenth term is ,  t10 = a + ( 10-1) d = a + 9 d = 25  ...................(2)

Hence ,  ( t10 - t4 ) = 6 d = 12  or   d  = 2

Common difference a is calculted from en.(1) as ,  a + 3 d = 13

a + 3 (2) = 13   or  a = 7 .............. (3)

17-th term is ,  t17 = 7 + 16 ( 2) = 39
