Porprties of Baking Soda (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate): NaHCO3 -
- It consists of white crystals which are sparingly soluble in water.
- It a mild, non-corrosive base.
- On heating sodium hydrogen carbonate solution, it decomposes to give sodium carbonate with the evolution of carbon dioxide.
