The force on current carrying rod due to magnetic field must be in the upward direction. Use cross product rule and think in which direction should the current be.

Next equate the force( ilB ) with the force on the two springs(2kx).

As we know, work done by Magnetic force is always zero in moving a charged particle./So it cannot change speed of charged particle. MY doubt is that, can magnetic force change direction of motion of charged particle?
