if α and β are roots of quadratic equation, then the equation is x2 -(α+β)x + αβ = 0
we have α = 2√2+3 and β = 2√2-3 , hence α+β = 4√2 and αβ = 8-9 = -1
Hence the eqn. is, x2 -4√2x -1 = 0
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
f(x) = 4x2 +18x -10 = 0
f(-1/2) = 4(-1/2)2 +18(-1/2) -10 = 4-19 = -15 ≠ 0
f(5) = 4(5)2 +18(5) -10 = 180 ≠ 0
hence -1/2 and 5 are not roots of given equation.
4x2 +18x -10 = 0
4x2 +20x -2x -10 = 0
4x(x+5)-2(x+5) =0
(4x-2)(x+5) = 0
hence roots are -5 and 1/2
