Expert Answer
For magnet (1) , direction of magnetic field is parallel to the direction of normal to the coil.
Hence movement of magnet (1) induces EMF and current in the coil .
When North pole moves away from coil , flow of induced current in the coil is clockwise direction
when viewed from magnet side. Hence current flows from right to left through resistor as shown in figure.
For magnet (2) , direction of magnetic field is perpendicular to the direction of normal to the coil.
Hence movement of magnet (2) does not create induced EMF and induced current in the coil .
