Expert Answer:

  • Telophase is a stage of karyokinesis (nuclear division) of mitosis.
  • Daughter chromosomes undergo decondensation and uncoiling at each pole and lose  their individuality.
  • The chromatin gets surrounded by discontinuous segments of nuclear membrane.
  • The spindle fibres and astral rays gradually disintegrate and disappear.
  • Each daughter nucleus enters the interphase of the cell cycle.
  • The end of telophase marks the beginning of cytokinesis.
