- Telophase is a stage of karyokinesis (nuclear division) of mitosis.
- Daughter chromosomes undergo decondensation and uncoiling at each pole and lose their individuality.
- The chromatin gets surrounded by discontinuous segments of nuclear membrane.
- The spindle fibres and astral rays gradually disintegrate and disappear.
- Each daughter nucleus enters the interphase of the cell cycle.
- The end of telophase marks the beginning of cytokinesis.
