Telophase is a stage of karyokinesis (nuclear division) of mitosis.
Daughter chromosomes undergo decondensation and uncoiling at each pole and lose their individuality.
The chromatin gets surrounded by discontinuous segments of nuclear membrane.
The spindle fibres and astral rays gradually disintegrate and disappear.
Each daughter nucleus enters the interphase of the cell cycle.
The end of telophase marks the beginning of cytokinesis.
