Dear student
Pls check at ur end there cud be an error in the units of qunatity of 0.5 cm..it cud have been 0.5 m.
In such case:
The eye is suffering from myopia.
For correction,
image requires to be formed at v= -0.5m
object at infinity (for objects like stars), u = - (infinity)
Uisng lens formula
1/f = 1/v -1/tituting for the value, f = - 0.5 m
Substituting for the value
f = - 0.5 m
Power of the corrective lens required
P = 1/f =- 1/0.5= -2D
