CBSE Class 12-science Answered
Is complete linkage shown when heterozygous male and heterozygous female drosophila are crossed?
Asked by prakriti12oct | 25 Oct, 2019, 01:20: AM
Genes showing complete linkage are transmitted together in their parental combination to the same gamete. Non-parental combinations are not formed. In case of a heterozygous male, e.g., RrYy and heterozygous female RrYy, after crossing, the offspring obtained as per dihybrid cross are in the ratio 9 : 3 : 3 : 1. In this cross, along with parental combination, several other recombinations occur producing non-parental combinations. Hence, a cross between a heterozygous male and heterozygous female shows incomplete linkage.
