Expert Answer
It is given that there is enough food for 28 days
One day food consumption for 1300 soldiers as a fraction of food storage= 1/28
6 days food consumption for 1300 soldiers as a fraction of food storage= ( 1/28 ) × 6 = 3/14
Remaining food after 6 days, as a fraction of food storage = 1- (3/14) = 11/14 .........................(1)
one day food consumption per soldier, as a fraction of stored food = [ (1/28) / 1300 ]
one day food consumption for 1100 soldier, as a fraction of stored food = [ (1/28) / 1300 ]×1100 ..........................(2)
Hence number of days for food stock is obtained by dividing the fraction given in eqn.(1) by fraction given in eqn.(2)
number of days = = 26 days
