Distance = 2592 km

Let the speed be x km/h.

According to the condition,
the number of hours needed = x/2

Time = Distance ÷ Speed
x/2   = 2592/x
→x2  = 5184
→x   = 72
 Time = x/2 = 72/2 = 36 hours

Therefore the time taken by a car to cover a distance of 2592 km is 36 hours.
