As per the Lorentz contraction formula,  L = Lo [ 1 - (v/c)2 ]1/2

where Lo is the original length of an object, L is length observed by an observer in relative motion ,
v is speed of moving object and c is speed of light

32 = 40 [ 1 - (v/c)2 ]1/2  ;   (32/40) = 0.8 = [ 1 - (v/c)2 ]1/2 ...................(1)

0.64 = [ 1 - (v/c)2 ]   or (v/c)2 = 0.36    or   v = 0.6c
