if our tongue can sense only 5 taste salty, bitters, sweet and umami then how does it sence spicy

Even though our tongue sense only the five basic tastes which are sour, salty, bitter, umami and sweet, it can also sense the spice taste when the heat and pain receptors in the tongue are triggered due to the biochemical called capsaicin present in the spicy foods.
