The death rate in Drosophila can be calculated by the equation:
Death rate = Number of deaths/Total population
No. of Drosophila in a laboratory = 80
No. of deaths of Drosophila in a week = 8
Death rate of Drosophila in a week = 8/80 =0.1
Therefore, the death rate in the population of Drosophila per week is 0.1.
