How to make ray diagrams
Asked by njsahota.singh8 | 03 Mar, 2020, 05:14: PM
Hello student,
First and foremost you have to go through all the rules of image formation by spherical mirrors and spherical lenses.
Then the next step is you try drawing the ray diagrams based on rules of image formation for various positions of an object.
Based on these ray diagrams drawn by you check whether you have drawn if correctly by refering to the table of position of image and nature of image for various positions of an object.
While drawing ray diagrams while practicing as well as in exams remember that the directions of arrows of light rays are important. So mark them correctly.
Absence of arrows will lead to deduction in marks.
Also labelling of object, image principal axis, optical centre, centre of curvature, focal length and nature of image below the ray diagram, is important.
Keep ray diagrams clean and neat. Avoid over writing.
Hope this will help you.
All the best!!!
