Plant cell has a rigid outer cell wall, followed by the flexible and thin cell membrane. The cell membrane encloses the cytoplasm and nucleus. Suspended in the cytoplasm are cell organelles like endoplasmic reticulum (ER), mitochondria, plastids, golgi body, lysosomes, a large central vacuole (in mature and differentiated plant cell) and ribosomes.
Animal cells are smaller than plant cells and lack the outer rigid cell wall. Animal cells are surrounded by the cell membrane, which encloses the the cytoplasm and nucleus. Suspended in the cytoplasm are cell organelles like endoplasmic reticulum (ER), mitochondria, golgi body, lysosomes, small vacuoles, centrioles and ribosomes.
