As the object moves from infinity towards the pole of the concave mirror, the image moves away from the pole except when the object is placed between focus and pole of the mirror.

The image is real and inverted and the size of image increases; its highly enlarged when the object is at focus. A virtual, erect and enlarged image forms if the object is placed between the pole and the focus of the mirror.
