In this case a charged particle is accelerated to high velocities. An electric field accelerates the charged particle. The magnetic field helps to keep it confined in a circular orbit.

For more details read your book and tell us which step you are not able to understand.

Put the centripetal force equal to the force due to the magnetic field and find the velocity and radius.
