u =27 m/s 
v = 0 ... (brakes are applied final velocity will become zero)
a = - 90 m/s2 (negative sign indicates retardation) 
 
v2 = u2 + 2as 
0 = (27)2 + 2 x (-90) x (s) 
0 = 729 - 180 s 
s = 729/180 =  4.05 m
