### Acircus tent is cylindrical upto a height of 3.3 m and conical above it. If the slant height and perpendicular height of conical part is 40 m and 24m respectively, then find the total canvas used in making a tent. Also find the cost of canvasing a tent at the rate of rs.12.5 per m sq.
For cone :
l = 40 m, h = 24 m
r = √(40^{2} - 24^{2}) = 32 m
Curved surface area of cone = ∏rl = 3.14 × 32 × 40 = 4019.2 m^{2}
For cylinder :
h = 3.3 m, r = 32 m
Curved surface area of cylinder = 2∏rh = 2 × 3.14 × 32 × 3.3 = 663.168 m^{2}
Total curved surface area = 4019.2 + 663.168 = 4682.368 m^{2}
The cost of canvasing a tent at the rate of rs.12.5 per m sq. is 4682.368 × 12.5 = Rs. 58529.6
