A particle a is projected up from ground with velocity u, after t second, particle b is projected vertically upwards from ground with the same velocity u, find in which time they will meet each other?

When particle-b meet particle-a during their motion, let us assume particle-a has travelled t1 seconds
starting from its projection time and particle-b has travelled t2 seconds starting from its projection time.
we are given, t1 - t2 = t ......................(1)
When both particle meet, net distance travelled by both of them are equal.
hence, u t1 - (1/2)g t12 = u t2 - (1/2)g t22 ......................(2)
using eqn.(1), we rewrite eqn.(2) as,
u ( t + t2 )- (1/2)g (t + t2 )2 = u t2 - (1/2)g t22 ...................(3)
u t - (1/2) g t2 - ( g t t2 ) = 0 or t2 = ( u/g ) - ( t/2 ) .....................(4)
