ICSE Class 10 Answered
A body of mass 500 kg is resting on a frictionless surface calculate the distance travelled by it in 10 sec when it is acted upon by a force of 10^-2 N

acceleration a produced on 500 kg mass by 10-2 N force is given by, a = force/mass = 10-2 / 500 = 0.2×10-4 m/s2
distance S moved in 10 sec is calculated using formula " S = (1/2)×a×t2 " , hence S = (1/2)×0.2×10-4 ×10×10 = 1 mm
