8 persons can complete a certain job in 12 days. How many days will it take if 24 persons do the same job?

If more persons do the same job then definitely it will take less time. Thus number of persons and number of days vary inversely.

Given: 8 persons complete the job in 12 days.

Let 24 persons compete the job in y days.

Now, in case of inverse variation the product of two quantities remain same, therefore

Hence, 24 persons will complete the job in 4 days.
