Dear Student,
There are different types of molecules such as monatomic, diatomic, triatomic molecules.
Examples,
Monoatomic molecules: Noble gases are monoatomic lacking any covalent bonds. He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, Rn.
Diatomic molecules: These are composed of two atoms of same or different elements.
All gases are diatomic.
Diatomic molecules consisting 2 atoms of same element are H2, N2, O2, Cl2, N2, F2, Br2, I2
Diatomic molecules consisting 2 atoms of different elements are NO, CO, HCl
Triatomic molecules
They are composed of three atoms of either same element or different elements.
Examples: O3, H2O, CO2, HCN
Tetraatomic molecules
They are composed of four atoms of either same element or different elements.
Examples: P4, NH3
